“The Venezuelan crisis”

Dr. Pablo Policzer and Dr. Maria Christina Parra will discuss the background to the Venezuela crisis, and speculate about its possible outcomes.

Dr. Pablo Policzer is the Director of the Latin American Research Centre and an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Calgary, where he also held the Canada Research Chair in Latin American Politics (2005-2015). He obtained his PhD in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his BA (Honours, First Class) in political science from the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Maria Christina Parra is a Visiting Fellow at the Latin American Research Centre at the University of Calgary. She is a Venezuelan sociologist with a Master of Science degree in Sociology and a PhD in Development Studies.

All meetings are in the conference room on the lower level at Parkdale United Church, 2919 – 8 Avenue N.W.  at 7pm. Donations are always welcome, but there is no charge.
